Copper laps were the standard in colored stone faceting for a very long time. Because copper is so expensive (and malleable), laps are sold with a copper layer bonded to an aluminum master. Charge this lap with our Voodoo 8k, 3k, or 2k to create very fast removal of subsurface damage from cutting and a very slick finish eager to take a polish – or even with Voodoo 14k, 50k, or 100k for a final polish.

This lap is recommended for prepolishing or polishing harder materials like Spinel and Sapphire, and any materials that don’t play nice with resin-tech laps.
This lap not recommended for softer materials, which might be more efficiently prepolished or polished using resin-tech laps. If you experience orange-peel behavior using this lap, change grit size (up or down – which is why recommend owning multiple copies dedicated the recommended grits), and also increase lubrication.
