Joe’s Jackpot is a fast-to-cut, high-performance retroreflector round, that came out of my concentrated study of that pavilion geometry in 2020, and named for my friend Joe Rubin.
For a few years, I used this design myself, and shared only with Academy students and a few friends. I’m sharing it now in Joe’s honor and memory.
This is a very easy design to cut, suitable for any faceter with just a few stones worth of experience. It works in any material from RI 1.43 to 2.16, without angle adjustments (really). This is the magic of the retroreflector.
