The Checkered Past is an intermediate-plus faceting design, owing to being a checkerboard crown that uses some discretionary sequencing and proportion work. The design is suited for medium-dark, materials of medium-large size, in RI of 1.72 and up.
If you’re an advanced faceter, with experience in checkerboard crowns and sequencing strategy, you can probably tackle this without the video.
If you’re an intermediate faceter working your way into checkerboard crowns, and if you’re prepared to exercise some patience and care, you may find it very helpful to use the video – which contains lots of tips, tricks, and comments about how to succeed with checkerboard crowns and how to manage pointed girdle plans.
