GemCad for Windows has three main purposes: Proof-cutting a diagram; modifying a diagram; and creating new faceting diagrams. I design all of my flat-facet gems on Gemcad, and I use it for learning and reviewing sequencing of complex diagrams prior to cutting. I regard Gemcad as one of the most essential tools for any serious faceter – and as one of the most important contributions to modern faceting. Thank you, Robert Strickland.
